Vacavaliente is the creator of this very funny piggy bank, but most of all very sustainable one. This because Vacavaliente uses recycled leather.

Recycled leather is a novel design material even though it has been used in the leather industry for many years. This material, also know as bonded leather, is composed of leather fibers produced by industry waste (leather craft scraps and tanning industry shavings) which generally end up in landfills. In order to become a useful material the fibers are milled and mixed with bonding agents which craete a paste which is the rolled out in sheets of various thicknesses and specifications depending on the use it will be given. The optimization of this innovative material helps reduce contamination and the demand for natural leather while creating new possibilities for design.
